About Cub Scouts and Pack 30

Welcome to Pack 30 in Douglasville, GA! Through the efforts of our families and dedicated parent and grandparent volunteers, we offer boys (and siblings) in 1st through 5th grades an exciting program of activities throughout the year where they can learn and grow by DOING! We are a family-centered activity built to both help our boys develop into independent young men and to give our families opportunities to spend quality time together. Though many associate scouting with camp outs and outdoor skills, and we do have our share of fun outdoors, cub scouts also learn by doing in a number of other areas such as building skills in leadership, interpersonal relationships, STEM (science, engineering, technology, and mathematics), athletics, citizenship, and many others. Come out and join us, we think your son and your family will love it! We are sponsored by St Julian's Episcopal Church in Douglasville, GA.

BALOO Training Nov 17

Posted on Oct 17 2018 - 11:30pm

Looking for 2-3 adults (not necessarily leaders) to get BALOO trained. (By the way, it's actually fun!)
BALOO stands for Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation. It’s the introductory training Cub Scout leaders should complete before taking Cub Scouts on an overnight camping trip. Recent updates to this two-part course make the content more impactful, useful, and convenient. The new BALOO combines the previous BALOO and a course called Outdoor Leader Skills for Webelos Leaders, or OWLS.

Modified Advancement Requirements

Posted on Dec 5 2016 - 3:56pm

The current advancement requirements were implemented by the national scouting organization in 2015. Subsequent feedback and a review of number of advancements since then has led to minor changes in the requirements which is supposed to make them slightly less demanding.
